The de.com Plastbau® Ercole® construction element is an innovative panel for the partition of walls, industrial curtains, industrial ceilings, attics or interior lofts, tile elements for the realization of ventilated roofs, curtain walls, insulating support for curtain walls.

Its peculiar characteristics:

  • LIGHTWEIGHT The weight varies by only 4 kg / sqm to 8 kg / m (depending on thickness);
  • SELF-SUPPORTING The construction element is self-supporting up to a max of 2 m and bears loads of 160 kg / sqm;
  • VARIABLE GEOMETRY To make it suitable for almost any architectural conformations;
  • HIGH THERMAL INSULATION Is incorporated in the element from the outset

The high and peculiar performances provided by the de.com Plastbau® Ercole® construction system are a result of the structural collaboration with EPS (expand polystyrene) with galvanized metal profiles placed inside of it.  This rational combination of lightness and mechanical properties of the structural elements gives an adequate strength to withstand the first phase loads, contributing greatly to raise the safety of the work done on site.

The de.com Plastbau® Ercole® construction element is an industrial product of rectangular shape (60 cm in width, height on request, thickness variable) obtained with EPS beads sintered at a density of 25 Kg / mc, characterized geometrically from the male / female battens for an easy installation.  The element is self-supporting due to the presence of metal uprights in a "C" shape co-extruded with EPS.

The spacial reorganization of existing buildings is easy and non-invasive.  The replacement of interior partitions is also possible without harming the existing structures of the building.  The possibility of rapid disassembly of the partitions, made with de.com Plastbau® Ercole® construction system, enables any future restructuring to be done in even less time.

De.com Plastbau® Ercole® construction element in expanded polystyrene (EPS) Euroclass 150, "Class E" type, density 25 Kg / mc, coefficient of thermal conductivity of 0.036 W / mK, with metallic posts in the polystyrene coextruded to a distance of 30 cm for partitions and roofs.  60 cm in width, 6 to 20 cm in thickness, length upon request.  The metal uprights are C-shaped and made of galvanized steel with a width of 8/10, perforated to allow co-extrusion with polystyrene and possibly used for the horizontal passage of the plants.  The traces allow the installation to be carried out with an electrical resistance that liquefies producing heat, at the point where it is applied, with the polystyrene creating the installation of the compartment.

De.com Plastbau® Ercole® construction element as a room divider

In place of the traditional partition walls made of 8 cm thick masonry wall, the de.com Plastbau® Ercole® structural components are widely used.

The element is used as a function of partition in buildings for residential, office, shopping, and hotel areas.

The de.com Plastbau® Ercole® construction element allows the realization of spaces and interiors of any type and size: its peculiarities, in fact, enabling designers and installers to have absolute freedom of design and application.

The finishes

The finishes recommended for de.com Plastbau® Ercole® curtain wall and can be either dry or with plaster:

  • • Dry finishes: the de.com Plastbau® Ercole® construction element can be coated with different types of sheets: gypsum board, gypsum fiber, magnesite, fiber-reinforced cement.  The designer has a wide range of dry finishes to compose the stratigraphy best suited to their needs.  The partition dividing panels, made with de.com Plastbau® Ercole® have a response to the decreased acoustics Rw = 35.5 dB, as evidenced by the certificates in support of the item.  Increased performance will be obtained by varying both the thickness of the elements, even combining them, using targeted coatings.  Compared to traditional plasterboard partition walls, the Plastbau® Ercole® walls will reduce installation time as the metal sections are already co-extruded polystyrene to the bearing frame of the system, the metal profiles.  The de.com Plastbau® Ercole® construction element is characterized by metal profiles with "C-shaped" sections in galvanized steel 8/10 set at intervals of 30 mm.  They ensure greater mechanical strength for the partition wall than the traditional plasterboards.  In the version with metal sections, the screwing of the plates is visibly extremely quick and easy.
  • • Finishes with plaster: The de.com Plastbau® Ercole® construction element can also be covered with plaster.  Our experiences suggest, preferably, those premixed with gypsum and lime and lightened with perlite, after application of normal adhesion.

De.com Plastbau® Ercole® construction element as a false wall.

The de.com Plastbau® Ercole® construction element is widely used in various sectors as a false wall:

- Construction of new public and private residential areas;

- Industrial construction;

- Recovery, renovation and restoration of the former.

In the field of restructuring of walls in existent edifices, the use of the de.com Plastbau® Ercole® construction element contributes to an increase in performance in terms of thermal resistance and fire resistance.  System performance depends heavily on the type of pre-existing support and the finish chosen.

Mechanical false wall

This technology involves the application of an element via mechanical fastening, making the false wall independent from the pre-existing support, solving the problems related to the sealing of the surface layers and allowing an easier correction of irregularities.  Moreover, the points of contact with the rear are limited, with consequent reduction of thermal and acoustic bridges.

It is possible to realize an air gap between the element and the back support, making the installation process much easier.

Plastbau® Ercole® construction element as an industrial sealing wall

For use in industrial buildings that require the use of panels with significant height, the impact testing, performed by de.com srl, shows how the de.com Plastbau® Ercole® construction element has an adequate load-bearing capacity to support the presence of a load up to 100 kg / sqm, and up to a height of 4 m.

Partitioning with the de.com Plastbau® Ercole® construction element

The walls, made of de.com Plastbau® Ercole® construction element with dry finishing, have different certificates characterized by different performances in fire resistance in relation to their composition.  These features of subdivision are primarily determined by the height of the element and actions identified.  If the configuration of the item tested to build is ascribable to the sample tested, especially in terms of height, thickness of the vestments, absence of loading equipment and types of assembly, it is possible to utilize the certificate as a starting point for an extension of the same.

The reproduction of the system is described in the test reports listed below. Executed maintaining the geometric configuration unaltered, and with the application of the same materials from the test, which, in their own respect, guarantee the REI performance, but while adjusting the various wall components, such as:

  1. width and thickness of the uprights
  2. number and thickness of the slabs (> 2 per side)

You can adjust the system described in the certificates in reference to the situations identified in the design phase, while keeping in mind the class of fire resistance of the certificate.

For the correct projection and realization of the subdivision, it is necessary to take into account the following practical aspects:

  • the surface of the mount following guidelines: must be continuous, flat, able to withstand the actions transmitted by the wall itself and equipped with adequate fire resistance.
  • in the presence of fire doors: it is appropriate to provide a support structure that is independent, suitably dimensioned and protected as by homologation of the REI frame.
  • in the presence of crossing plant: use REI recovery system requirements, certified accordingly on walls with internal stiffening, reproducing the conditions in the wall of installation planned for these systems.
  • in the case of vertical and horizontal expansion joints: draw the joint so as to ensure the minimum required sealing and isolation.

Some suggestions on the construction system of the partitioning wall

The methods of laying change depending on specific applications.  Typically, after having laid the metal guides in the floor section with a "U" shaped galvanized steel 8/10 hooked with fisher of 6 cm in length, 50 cm steep, we proceed by placing the de.com Plastbau® Ercole® panels at an angle, and screw with self-tapping screws with a flat head.  Step 30 cm from the ceiling element will be attached to the "L" shaped studs-section in galvanized sheet 8/10, bolted to it as described previously.  During the application process, the de.com Plastbau® Ercole® construction element will be coated with two layers of plasterboard of 1200 x 600 mm in size, sp. 12.5 mm, attached to the construction element.  The first with TLF25 screws, the second with TL35.  Circa 12+16 screws per panel will be utilized.  The particular attention posed to the projection of the constructive details has allowed us to fully reach a system of wall plugging able to respond in a needed way to the major requirements imposed by industrial building.  Thus, it is able to satisfy a client searching for a construction solution of elevated quality.

In recent years, industrial buildings have changed, providing real added value to the structures both in terms of architecture and enhanced performance.  The protagonists of this mutations are the de.com industrial panels, combining the satisfaction of stringent technical requirements as valuable aesthetic finishes, contributing to an overall improvement in the quality of architectural design.

De.com Plastbau® Ercole® construction element as a curtain wall

To meet the minimum requirements of the Law Decree No. 192 of 19/082005 and the respective Legislative Decree 311/2006 and Presidential Decree 59/2009, the buildings must be insulated with an adequate thickness of insulating material placed outside the construction, and must be covered with a thermal insulation which will entail the implementation of construction standards that comply with the regulations in force.  The result is expressed with greater realization times, higher construction costs and less use of space because of the greater thickness of the walls.

Given the above, the proposed de.com solutions allow designers to design and builder to build following regulations on thermal and acoustic insulation without facing restraints in the time and costs of implementation of work.

De.com Plastbau® Ercole® construction element as a cover

In place of the traditional covers, the innovative de.com Plastbau® Ercole® construction elements are widely used to allow the simplification of installation, decrease of time on site, cost reduction and better thermal insulation of the cover.

The enforcement procedure, identical to the traditional one, consists in the realization of the honeycomb walls according to the slope and distance of the project.  A completion to the upper concrete slab with a thickness of about 3 cm and mesh reinforcement are expected.
